Items Wanted

On the Spanish Life page, there a quite a few different topics but I am not sure people are reading them.

I added that I am looking for a small freezer and a gazebo, so if anyone has either please let me know, many thanks.

Singer - Sián Campbell Peters

Last night at The Stray Sod, La Fuente, Campoamor, I heard the voice of an angel, the amazing raw talent of Sian Campbell, she sang a wide choice of songs and some beautiful ballads. Go see her if you get the chance.

The Animal Ambulance

Does the mystery thicken.Just passed the Police Stn and realised the animal ambulance is not outside.so where is it (A)with K9 and working (B)gone for its ITV (C)Sold to reduce council debt.(D)stolen (E)Being used as an unlicensed taxi for Airport runs (F)Scrapped because it failed its ITV or (G)anything else.

La Marina

Alan i saw this and i thought i had to reply to it. As for where the ambulance is, well it could be anywhere in spain picking up cats or dogs write now. As for your asking where it is letter G it could even be doing furniture removal write now. In jan this year i took pictures of the ambulance loading furniture into the rescue van. I posted them on la marina forum the point i tried putting across was this..The tax paying people of San Fulgencio are paying the petrol on that van and there it was being loaded with furniture. I wonder now that the town hall found the contract if it states somewhere in it that it can be used as a furniture van. UMMM...Everyone knows who i am when it comes down to this but im just airing my views like everyone else does on here, i have no gripe with anyone but one man. We all know who he is or, i say was..

I for one hope that the animal ambulance will soon be back in operation. In the years since I have lived here the numbers of stray dogs has reduced dramatically!

Alan, when the councillors took the animal ambulance from K9 they got Cereco back in to collect abandoned animals from La Marina. From what I have read from andi who is part of la marina animal welfare it would seem they are in agreement with what the council have done and support cereco, what kind of animal charity supports a municipal dog pound that kills animals after just 10 days, but let's not forget la marina animal welfare is an animal charity that does NOT rescue abandoned animals!

Julie. Read this real good. As far as my connection to LMAW is, it is on a volunteer level ok. I also dont like the fact cereco are or, maybe coming back to deal with the animals but, i can see past the animal situation ok. Weigh this up in your left and right hand. You have debts rising in San fulgencio and cuts are part of every goverments pattern. So let me ask you this if your grand child, if you have any needed medical attention but you couldnt get it straight away but there was this amazing collection service for injured animals and there picked up straight away and giving medical attention straight away wouldnt you as a grand parent be fuming. If the ambulance is cut and so on theres probably more cuts on the way all im trying to express is that people and the people of San Fulgencio are more important than a animal ambulance no matter what. Regardless of how you answer this or put across what you say the peoples needs of San Fulencio are more important than certain things and the ambulance falls into "certain things"

And we come back to the same thing again! If they are so skint at the town hall how come they have taken on 5 people (friends) to do work the councillors should be doing and be paying these people more than double what previous employees were paid, approx 40,000€ more a year in wages! And only one of the employees would say it's money well spent if it's for the good of the urb, come on, 4,100€ a month paid to 2 inexperienced people to sit in an office and do something the councillors themselves should be doing!

Hi there. When we moved over it was the end of October and I have to say we didnt find it at all cold. I think thats because it had been so cold in England. It can still get up to around 20degrees here at the begining of November. I would say you will want t-shirts and cardigans, very light weight jumpers, short trousers that sort of stuff. I doubt that you´ll want shorts, but it really just depends on if your a chilly mortal.
Good luck with the move

The first year I moved here was in October and I wore my sandals, shorts and tops all through to March/April when it begins to warm up again. A local publican bet me 50Euros that the next winter I would be wearing jeans, warmer tops and light jumpers since by then I would be acclimatised. HE WAS RIGHT!

Fantastic 8 dog walkers today, which meant not only all the dogs in the small cages were walked, but the 6 dogs in pen number one were all walked as well (for the first time since last Sunday)
